first time in forever

my ankle is feeling that familiar throb that I had pre-surgery.its nothing horrible and the doctor told me that there was still a little arthritis in the bone so its not so surprising although Ive been rather sedentary this past month.

I begin work next week so time will tell if this is a sign of something new to come.
I sure hope not!

  1. Hi Brandy! I just sat here and read all your posts. My son has recently been diagnosed with a tarsal coalition (talocalcaneal) in both feet. The right is boney and the left is partially boney, but mostly fibrous. He's 12, but has had ankle pain for years and a few bad sprains. He is scheduled to have surgery on the right foot in early November, but we are getting opinions from 2 other doctors next week. The doc said he is hoping to separate the bones, but sometimes things are worse than anticipated based on the scans when they go in and fusion is a possibility. We are hoping & praying that separation is possible. Sounds like the recovery and outlook for future ability to run and play sports will be better w/ separation. We will wait to see how it goes before making a decision on the other foot.

Thanks so much for chronicling your experience. I will definitely be using the crate in the shower trick for him! ;-)
